UFC Vegas 32 is something of a breath of fresh air after last week’s disaster, albeit a mitigated disaster. By the time fight night rolled around, we only had 10 fights, but some of them delivered on entertainment. Our bets were a perfect 2-0 last week and we got a lot of the fights we expected. Rodolfo Viera had quite an entertaining finish as he cashed our ITD ticket. Miesha Tate and Islam Makhachev were dominant if not eye popping, and Tate cashed our other ticket.
This week is headlined by as good of a fight as we can hope for to headline a fight night. TJ Dillashaw return from a USADA suspension to take on Cory Sandhagen. This fight is going to deliver and it will answer any questions about where Dillashaw stands in respect to the top of the division.
We will not have a bet on this fight as we simply don’t know where Dillashaw is. There are just so many questions surrounding him. Will he be the same fighter without “special” supplements? Will the 2.5 year layoff leading into the return at 35 years old play a factor? If Dillashaw is the same fighter, he will win and win decisively. If he is not, we will see Sandhagen take a step towards another crack at Aljamain Sterling, who is currently the bantamweight champion. This is not a fight to wager on but it is certainly not one to miss either. It borders on can’t miss as far as Fight Night events go.
The remainder of the card is quality but not eye popping. There are 12 total fights and the co-main event is a fight that will be close in the women’s bantamweight division between Aspen Ladd and Macy Chiasson. I have a lean towards Aspen Ladd here as I believe she is superior grappler. However, she often makes her fights closer than they need to be and not interested in laying nearly 2:1 for that type of sweat.
As far as our bets for the card go, we will have three plays. All three plays are in tightly lined fights and one will be on a favorite with the other two on underdogs. Let’s get to the betting picks for UFC Vegas 32.
Darrick Minner -155 vs vs Darren Elkins
