76ers vs Jazz Prediction: November 16, 2021

The Philadelphia 76ers continue their six-game road trip Tuesday at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, looking to snap a four-game skid in the NBA. The Sixers have been quite short-handed as of late, falling to 8-6 on the young season, so the bookies highly doubt their chances to bounce back in this tough matchup with the 8-5 Utah Jazz. Although Utah hasn’t been at its best recently, dropping four of its previous five contests, the Jazz can count on all their important players.

✅ - The 76ers are without their best player, and Joel Embiid’s absence will be a big problem in a matchup with the Jazz. Rudy Gobert is averaging 14.9 points and 15.3 rebounds a night, so he’ll dominate the Sixers’ short-handed frontcourt. Philadelphia surrenders a whopping 12.2 offensive rebounds per game (29th in the NBA), and the Jazz will have plenty of second-chance points. 

✅ - Utah has struggled mightily to hit from downtown so far this season. The Jazz lean heavily on their 3-point shooting, taking 42.2 attempts per contest (3rd in the NBA), but they shoot only 32.1%, enough for the fourth-worst 3-point percentage in the league. Utah has dropped two straight games, going just 26-for-85 from beyond the arc. This should be a bounce-back spot for the hosts, as Philadelphia ranks 21st in the NBA in the opponent 3-point percentage (35.4%). Last season, Utah led the league in triples made per game (16.7) while ranking fourth in a 3-point percentage (38.9%). 

✅ - The Jazz have won 25 of their last 30 games at home. Two of those five losses have come in the last seven days, and the Jazz will be fired up to break out of their funk in this favorable matchup. Utah is 17-3 straight up and 12-7-1 ATS in its last 20 home encounters with the Sixers, who have won six straight road tilts against the Western Conference.
