UFC 258 Preview: Usman vs Burns Betting Picks
This is a betting line that has dropped nearly 100 points, and to the point that it has made the favorite in Maverick a very real value UFC pick.
We know what Gillian Robertson brings to the octagon. A strong top game on the floor, but very real limitations in the striking and some limitations in the wrestling. She has had success in the past against fighters who were not as physically imposing as Maverick. She has also had fails against fighters like Maverick who were able to keep the fight upright and not allow Robertson to the one place she has an advantage.
Maverick is a wholly youthful 23 year old that has a bright future in the UFC. She convincingly won her debut in October, in a fight in which the pop on her strikes was on full display. She is also a sound grappler and wrestler and I believe she will be able to nullify the Robertson game plan, essentially making Robertson a sitting duck in the stand up.
After the movement from -225 to -140, I simply can’t ignore the value I see on Maverick, and the flat play is the avenue of attack.
