Tecia Torres vs Angela Hill Prediction

Fight is at 115 lbs and is +240 to end inside the distance. 

✅ Tecia Torres won the first iteration of this matchup all the way back in 2015. That win came via unanimous decision. Of course both fighters are more developed now, but I think the edge still remains clearly on the Torres side. Torres is somewhat forgotten because of a four fight losing streak in 2018 and 2019, during which she faced a murderer’s row at the top of the division. Since then she’s bounced back to a two fight winning streak, and looked impressive in doing so. The striking in this fight will be close and both fighters are willing to come forward and willing to throw in volume. Where Torres will differentiate herself is with the more efficient striking, in the clinch and with a takedown or two. Torres is simply the more complete and leveled up fighter and that has not changed since the first meeting. 

✅ Angela Hill snapped a two fight losing streak in her last fight with a win over Ashley Yoder. Of course that win does not look as impressive now as Yoder just dropped a fight to Jinh Yu Frey and likely earned her walking papers from the UFC. Hill earned a reputation for being an active fighter and always wanting to climb the ladder, but every rung on the ladder has not been kind to her. Looking at her record, her most impressive win is likely against still developing Loma Lookboonmee. Every time she got an opponent upgrade in the rankings she was beaten, and she was even beaten sometimes when it was not a step up fight. Hill will push good volume in the striking but will struggle when Torres backs her to the cage and gets in on her legs. Hill would have to decisively win the striking exchanges if she is to make the judge’s believe she won this fight, as she will have to counteract the grappling portions of it. I also believe he cardio will not keep up with that of Torres in the third round, particularly if there is a torrid pace throughout. 

✅ This is a fight that is highly likely to go to the judge’s scorecards, and I want the complete fighter on my side when that is the case. Torres will have all the grappling moments in her hip pocket, and I do believe she will have won the striking exchanges as well. At a price of just -135, I don’t believe the line accurately reflects the gap in ability between these two fighters.
