Super Bowl LV Preview: Buccaneers vs Chiefs Betting Picks

Chiefs vs Buccaneers Predictions: Chiefs -3 and over 56

The Super Bowl is the game that decides the champion of the NFL in every given season. The winner of the American Football Conference (AFC) plays the winner of the National Football Conference (NFC) to determince who has the right to hoist the Vince Lombardi trophy.

The Super Bowl is considered the largest and most famous sporting event played in any sport every single year. The Super Bowl is famous for the football game itself, but also for so much more. The Super Bowl halftime show is an iconic event, as well as the commercials that are always the best of the year.

This year’s Super Bowl will feature the first time a team plays a home game. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Kansas City Chiefs at Raymond James Stadium after each team won their respective Conference Championship game.

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Green Bay Packers to earn the right to play in the Super Bowl.

While Super Bowl matchups are always fluid all the way through Conference Championship week, fans and viewers get an inarguable treat with this year’s matchup.

It will feature the greatest of all time, Tom Brady, against Patrick Mahomes, the Super Bowl LIV MVP and the player who is currently playing the game at a higher level than it has ever been played. This game truly sets up to be one of the best of all time and one that will have no shortage of points scored.

After that initial movement, the odds tend to settle in and cease to move much, barring an injury or other piece of news that might notably or significantly change the outcome of the game.

Super Bowl Picks

Chiefs vs Buccaneers Predictions: Chiefs -3 and over 56

The favored Kansas City Chiefs are the best bet to win Super Bowl LV. They are the defending Super Bowl champions and are rightfully favored. They already have a win this season at Raymond James Stadium agasint the Buccaneers. The Chiefs won 27-24 in Week 12.

The high end options to pick from feature high end quarterbacks. Tom Brady has the most Super Bowl wins of all time and holds the majority of records in Super Bowl history.

The younger Patrick Mahomes is the reigning Super Bowl MVP and will be looking to extend that incidence to a streak. Mahomes threw for a whopping 462 yards and three touchdowns in the first meeting between these two teams.

While the Buccaneers are quite a high end team with an exciting offense spear headed by Tom Brady, the greatest of all time, they are likely overmatched in this matchup.

The Chiefs beat the Buccaneers in their home stadium once already in 2021 and it is more likely than not that occurence becomes a streak. The combination of the Chiefs passing game of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill is the best trio in football.

It is a testament to the Chiefs franchise that they were able to draft all three of these stars. The Chiefs are 16-1 in games Patrick Mahomes played in this season and they are certainly the team to back in this year’s Super Bowl.

We can expect a good deal of effective offense from both sides, so the over would be the point of attack on the betting total. While the defensive units as a whole for both teams are adequate, neither unit is a dominant one and both teams are far more reliant on their offense than their defense.

The first matchup ended with a 27-24 score, but the offensive output in that game painted a picture that more points should have been scored.

Future Super Bowl locations, host sites

We currently know the location of the Super Bowls being played in 2022, 2023 and 2025.

The 2022 Super Bowl will be played at SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California.

The 2023 Super Bowl will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona

The 2025 Super Bowl will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The 2024 location is still to be determined.

2021 Super Bowl halftime show

The 2021 Super Bowl LV halftime performer will be The Weeknd. The Canadian artist is most well known for the hit single Blinding Lights. The Weeknd will have big shoes to fill, as previous halftime show entertainers include: Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake two times, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Beyonce, Katy Perry, The Red Hot Chilipeppers, Bruno Mars, Madonna, The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Sir Paul McCartney, Janet Jackson (remember the infamous “wardrobe malfunction?), Shania Twain, U2 and Aerosmith.

The Super Bowl halftime show is considered to be an event in an of itself, particularly by non football fans. It is the longest halftime of any game of any year by far, and that is by design, to accomodate the performance.

Super Bowl commercials

The Super Bowl is not only the crowning achievement for preofessional football teams, it is also the crowning achievement for large corporate marketing departments. Super Bowl ads cost uwards of $5M per spot, so the competition to be the most memorable is intense.

There are many memorable commercials from past Super Bowls, but there is a short list of advertising royalty that will live on forever. Budweiser has perhaps the most proven track record of any brand, with none better than their frogs ribbitting out the Budweiser brand name in 1995. It features three frogs whose ribbits respectively say “bud,” “weis,” and “er.” They also found fame with their memorable “Wassup,” “How you doin?” and “Dilly Dilly” spots in more recent years, and have a long history of Clydesdale horses and “Bud Bowl” games in other ads.

Other memorable Super Bowl ads include Pepsi’s Cindy Crawford spot in 1992. That ad featured a swimsuit clad Crawford stepping out of a red Lambourghini and putting a Pepsi can on full display. Another classic was McDonald’s spot featuring Michael Jordan and Larry Bird playing a ridiculouse game of HORSE for a Big Mac.

Here’s to hoping Super Bowl 55 brings the best Super Bowl commercials to date.
