Oddsmakers Show Ron DeSantis Surging in Presidential Betting Markets

June 18, 2021

Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump have the same odds to win the Republican nomination in the 2024 U.S Presidential Election, according to betting industry analysts at USsportsbonus.com (See Disclaimer Below). DeSantis and Trump both have 4/1 odds to be the Republican nominee in 2024 (20% implied probability), making them tied for the favorite position. However, Trump’s 7/1 odds to win the 2024 Presidential Election (12.5%) are better than DeSantis’ 12/1 odds (7.7%).

“Trump recently suggested DeSantis would be a good running mate, which would be a wise move considering the Florida Governor is Trump’s biggest threat among the Republican party at the moment,” says US Sportsbonus gambling industry analyst Jay Sanin. “DeSantis has improved significantly in both markets since February, when he was a distant 40/1 to win the election and 12/1 to be the Republican nominee.”

Kamala Harris remains the favorite to win the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election with 7/2 odds (22.2% implied probability), while Joe Biden follows at 4/1 (20%). Though Harris’ odds to win the election haven’t changed since February, her odds to secure the Democratic Nomination have improved slightly from 9/4 (30.8%) to 9/5 (35.7%).

“Like the Republican party, the Democrats are also seeing the race tightening a bit, with Joe Biden improving in odds to win the nomination and the 2024 election,” says US Sportsbonus gambling industry analyst Jay Sanin. “Biden’s odds to win the nominee improved from 4/1 to 2/1 since February, and his odds to win re-election improved from 9/2 to 4/1.”

In other Florida-related news, Val Demings is the odds-on favorite to win the Democratic Primary in the U.S. Senate Elecition in 2022. She has 4/53 odds (93% implied probability) to win the primary, but the Republicans are still 50/213 favorite to win the senate election (81%).
