NHL Thursday (9/3) night Parlay

September 1, 2020

Game 6 between Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders as well as Vegas Golden Knights versus Vancouver Canucks on Thursday makes an interesting and hopefully (and most likely) successful parlay from the NHL playoffs.

Game 1: Philadelphia Flyers – New York Islanders
Total Goals – Over 3.5 (60 Mins) @-335

Game 2: Vegas Golden Knights – Vancouver Canucks

Game 1: Philadelphia Flyers – New York Islanders

07.00 PM ET, Thursday, September 3

New York Islanders were unable to end this series on Tuesday as they were defeated 4-3 in overtime. A new chance awaits as game 6 is coming up and the Islanders still leads 3-2.

Philadelphia Flyers avoided elimination from the second round of the Eastern Conference playoff series as Scott Laughton scored a vital goal in overtime.

Conclusions and betting play: The Islanders were the underdogs when entering this series but they are up 3-2 and even though the Flyers proved their mental strength by winning the previous game in overtime I would consider New York Islanders being the favorites in game 6.

Philadelphia Flyers are still under the pressure to win but they have not been able to close down their opponent as efficient as they usually do in this series. The Islanders have been able to score at least 3 goals in each of the last 5 games and if they keep on doing that the Flyers will have a hard time surviving.

6 goals were scored during regular time on Tuesday and 4 goals or more have been scored in all of the 5 games in this series so far. I believe that at least 4 goals will be scored also in this game.

Betting play: Total Goals – Over 3.5 (60 Mins) @-335

Game 2: Vegas Golden Knights – Vancouver Canucks

09.45 PM ET, Thursday, September 3

Vancouver Canucks extended the Western Conference second round series against the Golden Knights after winning 2-1 on Tuesday. They are still down 3-2 in the series and game 6 is another must-win game for the Canucks.

Vegas Golden Knights were only able to score once in game 5 despite having 43 shots on goal but with a better shot efficiency they should stand a good chance of winning game 6.

Conclusions and betting play: Rookie goalkeeper Thatcher Demko made 42 saves in his first NHL playoff start for the Canucks as Jakob Markstrom who started the first 14 postseason games were not fit enough to play.

Overall, the Golden Knights have been the better team in this series but the Canucks proved team spirit and defensive discipline on Tuesday. But they will probably have to repeat that and even more so avoid elimination in game 6.

Only 3 goals were scored in game 5 and 7 goals or less have been scored in 4 out of the 5 games in this series so far. These are two offensively skilled hockey teams but in the case of Vancouver, they need to focus on their defensive play to repeat what they did well in game 5. Most likely, more than 3 goals will be scored in this game but there is still a positive value in playing the under 7.5 goal line.

Betting play: Total Goals – Under 7.5 (60 Mins) @-335
