NFL Super Bowl Prediction – Seahawks to fly the highest

December 22, 2019

We are almost at the business end of the National Football League season – but who will win Super Bowl LIV? The NFL playoffs are just around the corner and we already have eight teams confirmed for the post-season, with another four to be determined in the next fortnight. We’ve witnessed enough games this season to know who the front runners will be, and also the ones who are just making up the numbers because 12 teams have to qualify.

Everyone will have an opinion on what will happen in the post-season, so it’s only fair that I give mine as well. I’m going to go into detail on who I think will win the Super Bowl at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on February 2, 2020. At this time of year, it’s very common to see tipping pieces stating that Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are firm favorites to win their seventh Super Bowl title. Well, we’re not going that way. Actually, we don’t think they’ll even make the finals.

Our NFL Pick this season are the Seattle Seahawks

Why? Well, it’s simple. Russell Wilson. As much as Brady has carried the Patriots for years, Wilson does the same for the Seahawks. But this season he looks so switched on and pardon the sporting cliché, but it’s their year. Wilson looks so composed on the ball. He guides the Seahawks down the field with ease. He has passed for 3708 yards this season for 28 touchdowns. He has also only thrown five interceptions all season, some quarterbacks are throwing that amount in one game.

They say you shouldn’t rely on what person to guide you to glory. But it’s very hard to argue against how good Wilson really is. His vision in and out of the pocket is second to none, he rarely panics and he can find a touchdown pass out of nothing.

Looking ahead at the betting markets for the overall winner of the Super Bowl, SugarHouse doesn’t have the same kind of confidence that I have in the Seahawks. SugarHouse currently has Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson as their favorites for the Super Bowl title at a price of +225, while New Orleans Saints are next in line at +500. They both have great chances to win because of who they have at quarterback in Jackson and Drew Brees. But Wilson looks on point this season and his experience is what just pulls us closer to them. The fact they are actually the sixth favorite to be successful at +800 is not putting us off. Get on the Seahawks to secure their second Super Bowl victory.

Obviously, you can see we are backing the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl. So, why not back them to win the NFC Championship game as well. They are third favorites at +325. We’ve spent most of this article focusing on the Seahawks winning – but who will they be facing? You are probably a bit stunned and disappointed that I haven’t backed the Patriots to rule the roost once again. I just honestly think it’s a season too far for Brady. Although, he will more than likely prove me wrong. I cannot actually see the Patriots getting to Miami. They are a good side and are coached by probably the best ever in Bill Belichick, but it’s time for them to step aside and let the young guys take over.

The team that will line up against Seattle Seahawks in Miami at the start of February will be the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes gets better with every snap. He seems to have shrugged off his recent injury concerns. He has thrown for 3606 yards this season with 23 touchdowns, while he has only thrown four interceptions.

This is his third season in the NFL and he is yet to get to the Super Bowl. It will be his time this year, but he will have to wait a little bit longer for that winner’s ring. I don’t think Mahomes is the kind of player that usually chokes under pressure. But we saw that nerves got the better of Cam Newton when he was off form during Super Bowl LI when the Carolina Panthers went down 24-10 at the hands of the Denver Broncos.

The AFC betting with SugarHouse has the Chiefs as the third favorites at +350, behind the Ravens (-110) and the Patriots (+260). The Chiefs are fifth favorites to win the actual Super Bowl and can be backed at +750 with SugarHouse.

It’s fun to go for an outsider. It’s plain to see that the likes of Ravens, Saints, and 49ers have all been outstanding, but Wilson has been there before and knows what it takes to win. All eyes will be on him to come up with something magical, and let’s be honest we all know he’s capable of doing it.
