NBA Against The Spread Picks for Friday 11/8 and Saturday 11/9

Wednesday and Thursday Review

Wednesday NBA Plays

After we lost on the Pacers blowing a big lead late on Tuesday, we were able to go right back to them and get that loss back with a 15 point win laying 3.5 in a game that was never really in question. The other play on Wednesday came in, but the Bucks made this one a nail biter against the spread, and eeked out just a point cover. Lou Williams did everything he could to beat us but the Bucks were too much.

Thursday NBA Play

When Kawhi Leonard was announced as sitting Wednesday and playing Thursday, it immediately became the plan to fire against the Clippers on Wednesday and on them on Thursday. The Clippers came away with the win and cover, but this one was a sweat and Leonard’s free throws down the stretch proved to be the difference. It feels good to be on the right side of the tight ones that come down to the number.

3-0 on the two days brings us to 13-5 on the season.

Friday Betting Plays

Toronto Raptors at New Orleans Pelicans

The 5-2 Raptors travel to New Orleans to get their second win of the season against the 1-6 Pelicans. It can easily be argued the Pels played their best game of the season on opening night in Toronto and still found themselves to be eight point losers in that one. They legitimately had no answer for Pascal Siakam and Fred Vanvleet had a great shooting night in a game where Kyle Lowry didn’t play his best game. The Pels continue to have an odd rotation with their bigs and are generally unable to find any form of consistency and intermittent effectiveness at both ends of the floor. That will prove to be the difference in this one as the front line of the Raptors lead by Siakam are at the forefront of the road win.

Brooklyn Nets at Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers started the year off with a rough portion of the schedule. Just two of their first eight games were at home and those games happened to be against the title contending Nuggets and 76ers. As such, they are without a home win to this point and are set up to change that Friday night. This is just the third road game for the Nets and they are 0-2 to this point and their losses are not ones they get passes for, as they were at Memphis and Detroit. Despite the back to back for the Blazers, this is a bounce back spot after playing the Clippers tough on Thursday on the road, and they will cruise to an easy win. The line likely weights the back to back nature too heavily and is simply too low.
