New York Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies Betting Pick

Pick: Mets to win -140

Why bet the New York Mets?

📣 PHI – Chase Anderson (R) vs. NYM – Marcus Stroman (R)

✅ The New York Mets have lost three of their last five games. That comes after a four-game sweep in Wrigley Field by the Chicago Cubs. The Mets are in an early-season tailspin and will look to dig out with a matchup that heavily favors them. The Phillies and Mets are both solid teams, but this price should be a lot higher on the Phillies with these two SPs on the hill.

✅ New York Mets SP Marcus Stroman is in a contract year and he's looking to make some money. He's been excellent to this point, posting a 2.25 ERA with a 3-1 record through four starts. He's struck out 15 to just 5 walks. Stroman isn't a flashy pitcher, but he keeps the ball on the ground and brings enough flash with his body language. The Phillies can be tough to quiet, but I like Stroman to win this battle with a clean six or seven innings of work.

✅ The Phillies will answer with Chase Anderson, who's been terrible this year. He's holding a 6.00+ ERA with underlying numbers that don't give much promise. Even if Anderson doesn't get blown up, I still think the Mets put up three or four runs before he's knocked out of the game. I can't say the same for the other side and have to like the Mets to win this game. I like the first 5 innings as well.

✅ If you're looking for a lean on the total, I am a big fan of the under here. While I do like the Mets to put up some runs early, I also like Stroman to hush the Nationals and both of these bullpens are solid. I do prefer betting the Mets to win outright but will have some exposure to the under 8.5 runs as well.

📉 The Philadelphia Phillies are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. National League East.

📈 The New York Mets are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. National League East.

Phillies vs Mets Predictions

With the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets both in the AL East, they’ve faced off against one another over 1000 times. The Phillies have held a slight all-time advantage, but not by much. They’ve also never once met in the playoffs, which is a bit of a surprise after so many seasons in the same league.

This is a game that either team can win and we are here to let you know the best bet to hop on. Make sure you check out the Phillies vs Mets predictions above as we will be sure to lead you in the correct direction.

NY Mets vs Phillies Run Line Predictions

If you’re unaware of the run line bet in baseball, do not worry. This is a wager unique to the MLB and isn’t used in other sports. The run line introduces a spread, giving sportsbooks and bettors the freedom and access to an alternate line. This can either be a popular or rare bet, depending on the moneyline of the Phillies vs Mets.

The favorite will almost always have a (-1.5) next to their name while the underdog will be spotted with (+1.5) runs. Let’s just say the Mets are the hypothetical favorites here. That would mean a run line wager on the Mets would require them to win by two or more runs while a bet on the Phillies would call for either a victory by any margin or a loss by a single run.

You can be sure we will have the NY Mets vs Phillies run line predictions above. This isn’t always a wager to consider, so we will let you know one way or another. Make sure to check out all of the other Mets vs Phillies predictions as well.

Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Mets Over/Under Betting

When you’re not sure whether the Philadelphia Phillies or New York Mets have an advantage, you can elect to wager on either offense or defense. This mean you must pick whether the Phillies and Mets will combine for more or less than a certain amount of runs. This number is set by the sportsbooks and subject to change ac action comes in on either side.

For example, let’s say the over/under in this Phillies vs Mets game is set to 8.5 runs. A wager on the over would call for nine or more runs to be scored while a bet on the under would require eight or fewer total runs scored. This is typically the second-most popular way to wager on MLB games after the moneyline or run line, depending on the game.

NY Mets vs Phillies Moneyline Predictions

Betting the moneyline is a wager you should be familiar with if you’ve bet on any other US sport in the past. Wagering the moneyling comes down to picking which team will outright win the game, allowing you to ignore the run line and over/under. This is a very popular bet amongst casuals as it allows you to solely root for the winner of the game.

We are here to bring you top of the line Mets vs Phillies predictions of all kinds. The moneyline isn’t always a bet worth considering as the odds can be too steep. However, when the odds are close, the moneyline is usually the most popular wager of all to make. We are here to bring you everything you need to know about the NY Mets vs Phillies moneyline predictions above.

Phillies vs Mets Odds

Odds in the MLB don’t bounce around as much as they do in other sports, but they certainly still do. One outlier is when a pitcher is scratched or severe and unexpected weather is introduced like wind or rain. In that case, drastic line movement is very common and we will let you know how to react.

Line movement is a key piece of betting any sport and the MLB is no different. You must know which side you want to be on and how the public is going to influence the odds. Make sure to check out the Phillies vs Mets odds and predictions above as we will be sure to let you know which side of things you should be on.

Live Streaming Mets vs Phillies

The United States currently doesn’t offer any live streaming options when it comes to the MLB and sportsbooks. With that being said, it’s only a matter of time until things change as the legal landscape of sports betting in the states is under contsant progress. We will be the first ones to let you know when anything changes.

For now, you have a couple of different options when it comes to live streaming Mets vs Phillies. The easiest of which is MLB.TV, which will give you access to every game across the league. You can also sign up for a paid streaming site, which will let you watch more than just baseball games. The best of which include YoutubeTV, Hulu, and FuboTV.
