Georgia Bulldogs vs. Missouri Tigers Betting Picks

The 6-2 Georgia Bulldogs will go on the road Saturday to face off with the 5-3 Missouri Tigers at 12:00 PM ET in Memorial Stadium. You can fittingly tune into the SEC matchup on SEC Network. The Bulldogs enter as 13-point road favorites and we’re looking at a 52.5 over/under. Let’s dive into how this one will go down and who will end up covering the spread. Since losing to the Florida Gators in what was mostly an uncompetitive game, they’ve taken care of Mississippi State and South Carolina. They’re coming off a 45-16 win over South Carolina in J.T. Daniels second start. Daniels was one of the biggest recruits out of high school just a few years ago that committed to USC and has now transferred. The offense looks far more potent with him under center.

The Bulldogs have moved to a four-headed backfield with James Cook, Zamir White, Daijun Edwards, and Kenny McIntosh all getting carries. All four are elite and it’s impossible for a defense to deal with the skill sets constantly changing. Jermaine Burton and George Pickens are elite WR’s and caught eight balls apiece from Daniels against Mississippi State two weeks ago.

The Tigers are coming off a 50-48 win over Arkansas in a game they threw for zero passing touchdowns. While QB Connor Bazelak looked great and threw for 380 yards without a turnover, it was Larry Rountree III (185 yards, 3 TD) and Tyler Badie (79 yards, 2 TD) that did the dirty work. Rountree is up to 835 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season as one of the best backs in the SEC with a backup nearly as dangerous.

Keke Chism, Damon Hazelton, Tauskie Dove, and Jalen Knox have all caught between 25 and 2 balls with Badie grabbing 23. Bazelak might not be a lethal passer, but he’s great at spreading the ball around and there is no one guy to focus on slowing down. A win here for Missouri would give them a pretty solid bowl game, which is more than enough motivation.

The Bulldogs look a lot better with J.T Daniels under the helm and I’m not sure the Missouri offense will find the rhythm they’ve found in each of their last two games. The Bulldogs are tough to run against and I don’t trust Bazelak to throw when the running game isn’t working. It took Najee Harris and Alabama 31 carries to run for 150 yards against Georgia. Give me the Bulldogs to open the offense back up this week and for the defense to slow Mizzou down.

The Tigers offense has nearly put this many points by themselves in the last two weeks, but they’ll have a brutal wake up call this week when they struggle to run the ball. Bazelak isn’t a guy that can throw it down the field and the Bulldogs are tough over the middle and short. The Bulldogs will put up plenty of points, but they’re still an offense that doesn’t hurry things and they want to run the ball 25+ times. The under is actually my favorite bet in this game.
