The Milwaukee Bucks made waves on Tuesday when they released their new city edition jerseys for the 2020-2021 NBA season. Ditching the team’s traditional green and off-white colors, the uniform is certainly a unique one. Aquatic Uniforms?
Water appears to be the theme of this year’s Bucks city edition uniforms, specifically the water that exists in and around Milwaukee. According to the team’s first look at the jerseys, they are inspired by the rivers that run through the city as well as nearby Lake Michigan. The result is a color scheme that vaguely resembles that of the Cleveland Cavaliers before LeBron James arrived.
The numbers on the uniform are made to look like they are wet, though they are not. This was done with a coating applied to the numbers to create an optical illusion of sorts. Whether or not the replicas that fans can purchase will have the same effect applied to them remains to be seen, as that would certainly make this jersey one worth checking out whether you are a Bucks fan or not.
As is the case with any sports fashion, beauty is in the eye of the beholder here. Some fans might like the unique color scheme for a Bucks jersey, or at least appreciate the creativity it took to arrive there. Others might think that this jersey is a mess.
