✅ Pick - Rafael Dos Anjos +180 over Rafael Fiziev
This fight sets up as a striker vs grappler matchup. Fiviev is one of the best and cleanest strikers in the entire promotion. He will have a striking edge in essentially every fight he enters. What he will not have here are cardio or grappling edges. We have seen Fiziev be the technically superior striker, but we have also seen him slow down in third rounds. Conversely, we have seen RDA go five rounds countless times and not slow down. What's more, RDA's wrestling has returned since being outsized at welterweight and moving back to lightweight. I expect Fiziev to win with his striking early, but also for RDA to wear on the Fiziev gas tank. I expect takedowns to come much easier as the fight progresses and for RDA to progressively take over this fight late. Seeing as Fiziev's striking prowess does not include massive power, I will be taking the underdog to win the fight in the later rounds.
✅ Pick - Jamie Mullarkey ITD -105 over Michael Johnson
Jamie Mullarkey enters this fight off a loss to rapidly ascending Jalin Turner after notching impressive wins. Conversely, Michael Johnson is entering off a win against Alan Patrick after four straight losses. Now Johnson sees an uptick in competition while Mullarkey sees his take a dip. Mullarkey is -235 on the flat line and that is probably not wide enough. Mullarkey has had similar fights recently and won them against strikers Devonte Smith and Khama Worthy. Mullarkey will not let this be a clean striking affair as Johnson will prefer. Mullarkey has the power edge and will grind and make it dirty, and perhaps even put his wrestling to work. Mullarkey has advantages wherever this fight takes place. Additionally Johnson has been finished in the second round or later in five of seven losses, and one more would be far from surprising. Take Mullarkey ITD.
