Pittsburgh Panthers vs. Clemson Tigers Betting Picks

The 5-4 Pittsburgh Panthers will go on the road to face off with the 7-1 Clemson Tigers at 3:30 PM ET in Memorial Stadium. The Tigers come in as 23.5-point home favorites and we’re looking at plenty of points with a 57.5 over/under. The Tigers are itching to take the field and it’ll be interesting to see how things go. • Panthers are 0-4 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
• Tigers are 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
• Over is 6-0 in Panthers last 6 games overall.
• Over is 4-0 in Tigers last 4 games overall.

It’s been a back and forth season for the Panthers and they’re coming off back to back wins over Florida State and Virginia Tech. They impressed against the Hokies with a 47-14 win in a game that QB Kenny Pickett threw for 404 yards. He did turn it over once, but was more comfortable than ever pushing the ball down the field.

The Panthers must stay explosive offensively if they want to keep this number anywhere close as Clemson is going to score the football. They also must be able to score once they get into the Red Zone – something they have struggled with all season long.  

The Tigers haven’t taken the field since their heartbreaking loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Trevor Lawrence hasn’t been out there in five weeks. They’ll be itching to attack here and I expect the offense to put up some fruitful numbers. Dabo has been dragged in the media over the last couple of weeks and he won’t be shy to put up as many points as possible. They’re not playing a pushover team in the Panthers, but they won’t be able to slow down this offense that’s been cooped up for weeks.

Superstar running back Travis Etienne will see 20 touches and Lawrence will throw it for 300+ yards and a few scores. If Clemson wants to cover, however, they have to slow the Panthers down as well. They’ve shown an ability to throw the ball lately and they could keep it close with a shootout.

I like Clemson to come out as a team on fire after the last few weeks. They lost to Notre Dame and were then dragged for accusing Florida State was scared to play. The Tigers are not on the same level as the Panthers and I expect them to lay a 30+ point beating down. This is a bet I am all over if I can get it under the 24 number. It still remains at some books.

I love the over in this game and I’ll have a unit on both the spread and total here. The Panthers have shown an ability to throw the ball of late and we know Clemson is going to put up 40+. The over is the only bet to make here and it’s one of my favorites on the entire week.
