NHL Tuesday (8/25) night Parlay

Game 2 of the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs to look forward to tonight and a parlay that includes both games this Tuesday is prepared. Boston Bruins takes on the Tamba Bay Lightning followed by Vancouver Canucks versus Vegas Golden Knights and the stats, convincingly, points in the direction of this betting pick.

Tamba Bay Lightning were defeated 3-2 in game 1 of the Eastern Conference second round against the Boston Bruins. The Lightning failed to score on the powerplay on each of its ten opportunities in the first round against the Colombus Blue Jackets and they were unable to break that negative streak in this game. Head coach Jon Cooper admitted that their lack of powerplay goals is starting to become an issue for them.

Boston Bruins had a tough start of the postseason while losing all three games of the round-robin stage but after winning game 1 of this series they made their fourth win in a row. The number one seed of the Eastern Conference are looking more and more as solid as they used to during the regular season.

Conclusions and betting play: As Tuukka Rask opted out of the Stanley Cup playoffs Jaroslav Halak has taken over his position and in game 1 he made 35 saves for the Bruins. They have their previous 4 games while only conceding 7 goals in total and it is obvious that the Lightning will have to fight hard to get their goals in this series.

The Lightning have to improve their power play because, based on game 1, that is the only difference between these two sides right now. They both defended very well but the Bruins were slightly more efficient.

5 goals or less have been scored in 8 out of the Lightning’s 9 games. 5 goals or less have been scored in 7 out of the Bruins’ 9 games. I am quite sure that game 2 will be a tight game where rather few goals will be scored.

Vegas Golden Knights have performed on a very high level during the entire postseason but game 1 in the Western Conference second round was perhaps their most impressive performance so far. They shutout the Canucks while winning 5-0 and if they can continue playing on this level they will almost be unstoppable.

Vancouver Canucks had a tough night on Sunday as they were never even close in this game. They did not get up to their standard in game 1 and Vegas played really well in both ends but the Canucks have proven that they are a much better team than what they able to show in this game.

Conclusions and betting play: Vegas Golden Knights have scored 4 goals or more in 7 out of their 9 postseason games. It is hard for any team to compete with their high-speed attacking game and when they are also playing really defensively, as in game 1, they are almost unstoppable.

But the Vancouver Canucks scored 10 goals in total in their previous 2 games against such a solid team as the St. Louis Blues and they possess attacking skills that are not far from Vegas’ level. I am quite confident that they will improve their game in game 2 of this series.

More than 4.5 goals have been scored in 8 out of the Canuck’s 10 postseason games. More than 4.5 goals have been scored in 7 out of the Golden Knights’ 9 postseason games. I believe that at least 5 goals will be scored also in this game.
