NHL Sunday (8/16) night Parlay
August 15, 2020

After 13 winning parlays in a row, we are back with another one that is calculated to prolong the winning streak. I have picked two games for Sunday night (ET) where I believe there is a positive betting value in the goal line.
Game 1: Vegas Golden Knights – Chicago Blackhawks
Total Goals – Under 7.5 (60 Mins) @-295

Game 2: Philadelphia Flyers – Montreal Canadiens

Game 1: Vegas Golden Knights – Chicago Blackhawks
06.30 PM ET, Sunday, August 16
Chicago Blackhawks was defeated 2-1 in game 3 of the Western Conference first round and now they are pressured to win game 4 to stay alive in this series.
It is a tough situation for the Blackhawks right now as they have been very close in two straight games but still, they are down 3-0. Their moral and hard-working discipline is high in each game but the question is whether they possess the qualities to defeat this Vegas team the way they are performing right now.
Vegas Golden Knights are undefeated in six straight games of the postseason and they seem unstoppable at the moment.
Although, they have scored four goals or more in each game until yesterday were they only managed to score twice. Instead, Marc-Andre Fleury took the leading role while stopping 26 shots.
Conclusions and betting play: Primarily, Vegas Golden Knights have their strength in the attacking play. They have been scoring lots of goals during the entire season and even more since the postseason started.
The Blackhawks were able to close down their attacks very well in game 3 and if they can continue doing so in game 4, I believe they will stand a chance.
The problem though, from a Blackhawks perspective, is that Vegas also have two goalies, Fleury and Lehner, with a high capacity which was proven by Fleury in the last game.
In general, many goals have been scored when these two teams have been involved during the postseason but the last game might have been an indication of something else. Even though we have seen many goals, still, less than 7.5 goals have been scored in the past 4 games in the case of Vegas Golden Knights and less than 7.5 goals have been scored in Chicago Blackhawks’ past 5 games.
Betting play: Total goals – Under 7.5 (60 Mins) @ -295
Game 2: Philadelphia Flyers – Montreal Canadiens
08.00 PM ET, Sunday, August 16
Montreal Canadiens evened the Eastern Conference first round by, quite surprisingly, defeating the Flyers 5-0 in game 2. Carey Price made 30 saves and overall it was a highly impressive performance by the underdog of this series.
The Flyers won the first encounter 2-1 and were undefeated in four straight games and maybe they had underestimated the strength of this hard-working Canadiens team that are also missing their head coach Claude Julien who is recovering from a stent procedure.
Philadelphia Flyers “got their butts kicked in all facets of the game” as coach Alain Vigneault expressed it after being defeated 5-0 on Friday.
It was not that obvious to see this poor performance coming as the Flyers have been looking extremely solid in the past four games. They had only conceded four goals in total until this game where the Canadiens scored five.
Conclusions and betting play: The Canadiens came out really hard in the first period of game 2 as they outshot 16-6 and the Flyers were unable to have a shot for the first 16:24 minutes. It seemed true, as the Montreal players also said, that they were playing to honor Claude Julien.
Few people expected that the Canadiens would reach this round of the playoffs and they were not generally considered to stand a chance against Philadelphia Flyers. After their impressive performance in game 2, it is now much harder to predict the outcome of this series.
The Flyers will have to step up in game 3 – as game 2 must have been some kind of a wake-up call – and my prediction is that they will. Game 1 ended 2-1 and I believe we are looking forward to a really tight game 3 where rather few goals will be scored.
Betting play: Total goals – Under 6.5 (60 Mins) @ -335
