Wednesday Review

The Jets made it their fourth straight win when defeating the Oilers 4-2. Connor McDavid was back in the Edmonton squad and also scored but all in all, they were not efficient enough to break down a very solid Winnipeg Jets.

Solid as rocks is also a proper description of LA Kings right now. They won their seventh straight game after having defeated Ottawa Senators 3-2 last night. So 5 and 6 goals were scored in my under 7.5 parlay, which makes that pick pretty solid as well.

Three straight wins this week makes it 4-2 in total.

Game 1: Winnipeg Jets – Edmonton Oilers

9.00 PM ET, Wednesday 11th March

Edmonton Oilers was defeated by Vegas on overtime in a very tight clash between the Pacific Division top-teams. The Oilers are now three points behind Vegas with one game less played.

Their form is pretty solid, they have won 4 out of their past 6 games and the individual skills in this team are definitely good enough for being a contender of the Stanley Cup title.

Winnipeg Jets have only lost 1 of their past 5 games – and that defeat was against the Edmonton Oilers. That game took place less than two weeks ago and the result was 3-2.

Since then, the Jets have won 3 straight games in which they have only conceded 3 goals in total. A well-needed run of victories for the fifth-placed team in the Central Division

Conclusions and betting play: The Jets were defeated by the Oilers in the previous, and second, meeting, but they did win the first clash 1-0.

The Oilers have a very high potential, but the Jets is a tough team to beat right now. They are conceding very few goals and open chances are rarely given away.

In Winnipeg’s case, under 6.5 goals have been scored in the past 11 games. More goals are often scored when the Oilers are involved – but still, there have been under 7.5 goals in 12 of their past 14 games.

Betting Play: Total goals – Under 7.5 (60 Mins) @ -315

Game 2: Ottawa Senators – Los Angeles Kings

10.30 PM ET, Wednesday 11th March

Los Angeles Kings made it 6 wins in a row after defeating the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 on Monday. Their performances are highly impressive at the moment, not only the wins but also the fact that they have conceded 1 goal or less in 5 of these 6 games.

This sudden wake up makes them one point behind the San José Sharks, but still, they are the bottom team of the Pacific Division.

Ottawa Senators are in the second-last position in the Atlantic Division on 62 points, which is the same as the Kings.

Last night the Senators were defeated 5-2 by the Anaheim Ducks, but before that game, they had won two games straight against the San José Sharks and the New York Islanders.

Conclusions and betting play: The discipline and the structure of the LA Kings defensive game is highly impressive right now. They have conceded only 1 goal or less in 6 of their past 8 games and they should stand a good chance of winning their 7th game straight tonight.

The Senators are more unpredictable and a couple of goals are often scored in both ends. However, there have been under 7.5 goals scored in 17 of their past 19 games.

Betting Play: Total Goals – Under 7.5 (60 Mins) @ -335

Parlay Pick

Tuesday Review

The Tamba Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs are top-scoring teams in the league but last night only 3 goals were scored when the latter ones won 2-1. A somewhat contradictively result but it made sense when looking at Toronto’s most recent games.

To complete the successful parlay the Dallas Stars lost their sixth straight game when being defeated 4-2 by the New York Rangers. Once again the New Yorkers were efficient in the attacking zone but luckily for the betting pick also the Stars, once again, had problems finding the net.

Two straight wins this week makes it 3-2 in total.

NHL Tuesday Night Parlay

Game 1: Tamba Bay Lightning – Toronto Maple Leafs

7.00 PM ET, Tuesday 10th of March

Toronto Maple Leafs are a bit of a mystery right now. On Sunday they lost their third game straight after being defeated 2-1 by Anaheim Ducks.

Only two teams have scored more goals than the Maple Leafs this season, but at the moment they are having a really hard time creating good enough chances in the attacking zone. A problem that definitely has not been the case earlier this season.

In that sense, it is bad timing to go up against Atlantic Division rivals Tamba Bay Lightning who are in second place while Toronto is in third place.

Tamba Bay Lightning are 13 points ahead of Toronto but on Saturday they were, unexpectedly, defeated by Detroit Red Wings on penalties.

The game before they had defeated the entire NHL top team Boston Bruins. These two results make the Lightnings form rather tricky to define.

Conclusions and betting play: This is a very interesting game between two of the best-attacking teams in the league. Despite this fact, I see a value in picking the underplay.

Even though Toronto scores and concedes a lot of goals 12 of their past 14 games have ended under 7.5 goals. Looking at the past three games they have only scored 3 goals in total. In 6 out of Tamba Bay’s last 7 games there have been under 7.5 goals scored.

Betting Play: Total goals – Under 7.5 (60 Mins) @ -230

Game 2: New York Rangers – Dallas Stars

8.30 PM ET, Thursday 10th of March

Dallas Stars are struggling right now, coming to this game with 5 lost games straight. On Thursday and Friday, they were defeated by the Nashville Predators two nights in a row. Also, they were unable to score in both games that ended 2-0 and 1-0.

However, they are still in a good third position in the Central Division and they should stand a good chance of creating a new momentum when taking on New York Rangers tonight.

New York Rangers are second-last in the Metropolitan Division and on Saturday they were defeated by the team chasing behind, New Jersey Devils.

This means they have lost 4 out of their past 5 games. The main problem is that they are conceding too many goals. After conceding 6 goals against the Devils their main priority right now is to structure their defense.

Conclusions and betting play: This is a battle between two teams on a weak form where Rangers is conceding too many goals while the Stars score too few.

Dallas’s last 16 games have ended under 7.5 goals and only 6 goals have been scored in total in their past 3 games. Rangers’ results lately indicate the opposite but I believe the Stars will make this a tighter and more structured kind of game than what normally is the case when the New York Rangers is involved.

Betting Play: Total Goals – Under 7.5 (60 Mins) @ -385

Monday Review

LA Kings is one of the toughest teams to score against at the moment and last night they managed to win their sixth game straight after defeating Colorado 3-1. A result that was very much in line with my prediction.

The first game in this parlay was a bit more on the edge though. The Jets rallied from two goals down to defeat the Coyotes 4-2. A close call for my under 6.5 goals pick but good enough to secure the win.

A good start on the week that brings me 2-2 in total.

NHL Monday night Parlay

Game 1: Arizona Coyotes – Winnipeg Jets

7.00 PM ET, Monday 9th of March

Winnipeg Jets are on a positive run after defeating Vegas 4-0 on Friday. They have won 3 of their past 4 games and only conceding 3 goals in total.

However, they are still second-last in the Western Division, but they are only 6 points behind Dallas in third place.

Arizona Coyotes are on the fifth position in the Pacific Division and 74 points in total, which is 2 less than the Jets.

After winning two straight the Coyotes lost 3-2 against Calgary on Friday. Defensively they are one of the strongest teams in the league and have only conceded 183 goals, which makes them the third-best team in NHL this season.

Conclusions and betting play: The Jets are somewhat favorites in this game but the Coyotes have conceded 3 goals or less in their past 13 games and they are, obviously, very well organized in their defense.

But the same saying goes for Winnipeg at the moment. They have conceded very few goals lately, in numbers 3 goals or less in their past 11 games and only 3 in total in their past 4 games. All in all, this speaks for a very tight game and rather few goals scored.

Betting Play: Total goals – Under 6.5
Odds: -210

Game 2: Colorado Avalanche – Los Angeles Kings

10.30 PM ET, Thursday 9th of March

Los Angeles Kings are having a solid momentum right now after winning 5 games straight. They have relied on a very strong defense lately, but on Friday they also managed to produce a lot of goals when defeating Minnesota 7-3.

However, they are still at the bottom of the Pacific Divison but only three points behind the San José Sharks.

Colorado Avalanche are only two points behind St Louis at top of the Central Division. Last night they defeated San José 4-3 after having lost two games straight.

The Avalanches are aiming for a top position while the Kings are struggling in the bottom but considering their strong form the top team will be up for a tough task.

Conclusions and betting play: The Kings have structured their defensive play very well lately and if they can repeat that tonight they will stand a good chance of neutralizing Colorado’s offensive skills.

Los Angeles have conceded only 1 goal or less in 5 of their past 7 games and Colorado have scored 3 goals or less in 15 of their past 16 games.

These teams went head to head two times during February where The Kings won the first one 3-1 while The Avalanches won the last one on penalties after a goalless 60 minutes.

Betting Play: Total Goals – Under 7.5
Odds: -400

Friday Review

Calgary were up 3-2 after two periods and the prediction looked pretty solid. But the third period – where most of the action usually takes place – ended goalless which left us one goal behind. Both teams made 34 shots on goal but still only 5 goals were scored. This brings me down to 1-2.
