NFL Divisional Playoff Week Review

January 12, 2020

The Good

The 49ers -7 had full ownership of the Vikings throughout the game on Saturday. The only bright spot for the Vikings was an early Diggs touchdown on a blown coverage by Witherspoon that got him benched. After that it was all 49ers as they rolled 27-10.

The Titans +9 had their way with the Ravens as they played effective bend but don’t break defense and forced some key turnovers. Derrick Henry steam rolled again and the big underdog Titans won outright 28-12, bouncing the 1 seed Ravens from the playoffs

The Chiefs -9 had a nightmarish first quarter seeing all of a blown coverage, blocked punt and muffed punt result in Houston touchdowns and were trailing 24-0 early. No matter, the fraudulence of the Texans shined through and the Chiefs went on to score 41 unanswered points as Patrick Mahomes was masterful. The final was 51-31 Chiefs.

The Bad

Seattle +4 was a bit of a heartbreaker, but we can’t really call it a bad beat. Our process was assuming it was a one score game, and it was that, as they lost 28-23. The real heart breaker came on a failed two point conversion in the fourth that was the difference in a cover or not. Additionally the play that iced the game featured an egregiously bad spot which cost the Seahawks a last drive to try to win.

3-1 on the week, not too shabby.
