NBA Against The Spread Picks, Sunday and Monday
November 3, 2019
Wednesday and Thursday Review
Apologies for my absence on Friday and Saturday, I was attending an out of town wedding. I am back and ready to keep it rolling with the against the spread picks in the Association!
Wednesday Pick
The Bulls were a big let down as they were not able to get it done against the Cavs, who are definitely being coached very well by John Beilein and they will remain more competitive than the roster should reasonably dictate. The Bulls will be the subject of today’s pick, as they have opened the season quite poorly and have been a team I’ve given too much credit to this point.
Thursday Pick
The Heat were easy money as it was quite predictable the Hawks would be lacking on offense while missing Young. This will be the trend for as long as Young is out. Unfortunately for us they have a rare four consecutive days off and we don’t get to go back to this well until Tuesday.
The 1-1 record over those two days brings us to 8-4 on the season.
Sunday Pick
Chicago Bulls at Indiana Pacers
5:05 PM EST
- Opening Line: Pacers -3.5 and 214
- Current Line: Pacers -1.5 and 216.5
As mentioned in the review, the Bulls have been a disappointment thus far. They have a collective of young talent that is simply not meshing for effective team basketball, and Lauri Markannen has been inconsistent to say the least. The Pacers on the other hand have a budding star in Malcolm Brogdon who is quickly making this team his and a winning one. Efficiency will rule the day here as the Pacers get the home win. The Bulls already have three road losses at worse teams than Indiana and the favorable line is one to attack.
Monday Pick
Houston Rockets at Memphis Grizzlies
8:05 PM EST
- Opening Line: Rockets -7 and 235
- Current Line: Rockets -5.5 and 229.5
The Rockets have had some chemistry issues at the onset of the season and have fallen short of expectations to this point. It was never going to be easy finding a perfect formula for Russell Westbrook and James Harden to coexist so the fact that this has not happened perfectly and immediately is unsurprising. With Westbrook out for rest purposes, the team will much more closely resemble the version from last season and we get quite a favorable line as the Westbrook’s absence is viewed as a loss when the reality is it’s a boon for the Rockets in the short term, and should lead to an easy win. Take the Rockets tonight and let’s keep it rolling on the NBA season.
