NBA Against The Spread Picks For Wednesday 11/20
November 19, 2019
Betting Plays For Wednesday
Charlotte Hornets 6-8 at Brooklyn Nets 5-8
7:35PM EST
Opening Line: Nets -5.5 and 221.5
Current Line: Nets -4 and 219.5
The Nets will play their third consecutive game missing star and top scorer and distributor Kyrie Irving. They were fortunate enough to get a career game from role player Joe Harris in the first, a narrow win in Chicago, but no one stepped up in the second and they were blown out by 30 by Indiana. I think this is a trend we will see follow with Irving off the court. If they get a role player to step up and have a big game, they will play close competitive games but if they do not, they will be on the losing end. That’s where I see a good bit of value in the Hornets +4 as even if the former comes to fruition, a cover is still very much in play with an outright win being all but assured if the latter comes to fruition. Take the points against the short handed Nets.
Betting Picks: Hornets +4
Utah Jazz 8-5 at Minnesota Timberwolves 8-6
8:05PM EST
Opening Line: Jazz -2.5 and 218′
Current Line: Jazz -3.5 and 218
This is the back half of consecutive games between these two teams with a day of rest in between. The Timberwolves surprisingly won the first matchup in Utah and we get a spot here with a high end team facing consecutive losses against the same opponent and one to take the Jazz in a bounce back spot after their atrocious shooting and defensive performances in the first matchup. The Jazz are second in the league in defensive efficiency and certainly had an off night in that department on Monday, but they also had all of their shooters rack up a bad game. Those nights happen but they will be eager to get this one back in a regression to the mean tonight. Take the Jazz for the win and cover.

Tuesday Review
After some run around with the news cycle yesterday, we finally landed on knowing Damian Lillard was not playing for the Blazers and that Brandon Ingram was playing for the Pelicans. With the line only moving to the Blazers -1.5 it created huge value in the Pelicans and they did not disappoint, with an outright win of 11 points.
The win brings us to 18-12 on the season.
