Marlins vs Braves Predictions

April 11, 2021

Pick: Over 8.5 runs

The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins are both in the NL East and every time they face off will be for positioning in the division. While the Braves are certainly projected to have the better season, the Marlins are always a scrappy team and seem to play their division extremely tough. Expect every one of these games to be tough for either team to win.

We are here to bring you predictions for each and every one of these games. Let’s dive into how this game will go down and who will end up covering the spread.

Miami Marlins vs Atlanta Braves Betting Pick

Pick: Over 8.5 runs

Why bet the Over 8.5 runs?

📣 MIA – Sandy Alcantara (R) vs. ATL – Huascar Ynoa (R)

✅ The Atlanta Braves offense is in full stride and they are coming off a game in which they were robbed last night. They shouldn’t have lost that game to the Phillies and I expect the Braves bats to continue rolling against an arm that’s far from shutdown. Even though Sandy Alcantara is very good against righties, the Braves have enough lefties to get to him. I am hoping we see at least three of them in the starting lineup as Alcantara is miserable against them. Ozzie Albies and Freddie Freeman are the two guys who have the best chance against the starter.

✅ The Marlins are only implied to score 3.59 runs when looking at these odds, which I find very low. Huascar Ynoa is going to be a very good pitcher at some point, but he’s just 22 years old and we’ve already seen some growing pains he’s endured in the majors. The Marlins aren’t all that flashy, but they are scrappy and seem to always play well inside their division. I expect guys like Corey Dickerson and Jesus Aguilar to cause trouble, but the whole order 1-9 can make it happen.

✅ If you’re looking for a lean on the moneyline, I actually really like the Marlins at plus money. Sandy Alcantara will likely face six or seven righties and he’s elite against them. I still think the Braves put up four of five runs, but that might not be enough. The Atlanta Braves bullpen is tired and I don’t trust the starter much either. Don’t be shocked to see the Miami Marlins have a big offensive night en route to a win and the over 8.5 easily hitting.

✅ Over is 7-3 in Marlins last 10 road games with the total set at 7.0-8.5.

✅ Over is 6-0 in Braves last 6 home games.

General Info about Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins

Who is the Starting Pitcher for the Miami Marlins?

The Marlins Starting Pitcher will be Sandy Alcantara, who’s a pretty solid youngster. He’s great against right-handed bats and has shown he can last relatively deep into games. However, he does struggle in a big way vs lefties. Especially with the deep ball. This Braves lineup has some good ones and Alcantara has struggled in the past against this team. Expect a hard-fought battle on both sides.

Who is the Starting Pitcher for the Atlanta Braves?

The Braves will be deploying Huascar Ynoa, who’s a 22 year old that made his first MLB appearance at 20 years old. He’s an extremely talented arm and it’s only a matter of time until he finds himself in the Braves rotation. With that being said, he’s still young and growing pains are inevitable. Expect big things out of the youngster eventually, but maybe not in this game against a scrappy Marlins lineup.

Marlins vs Braves Predictions

The Miami Marlins have only been around since 1993, so they don’t have all that much of a history with anyone. However, these two teams are in the same division and play each other a minimum of 19 times per season. Dating back to ’93, the Braves and Marlins have faced off close to 500 times with the Braves holding a comfortable advantage. They’ve met just nine times in the playoffs with the Braves winning five of those games.

With all of that being said, this is a brand new game and all history is thrown out the window when these two teams take the field in this one. Both the Marlins and Braves have a solid chance to win this game and we are here to bring you the best predictions possible.

Make sure you check out the Marlins vs Braves predictions above and below for not only the run line, but over/under, and money line as well. This is sure to be a competitive game and you will want to profit while tuning in.

Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins Run Line Predictions

The run line wager is a bet unique to baseball, so don’t be worried if it seems unfamiliar at first glance. The run line allows you to bet an alternate spread when the moneyline is too steep or you think a team will be the other by a good margin. The popularity of this wager depends entirely on the odds of the game.

Let’s say the Atlanta Braves are heavy favorites in this game. They would be tagged with cheaper odds and a (-1.5). In this case, they must win by two or more runs for the bet to win. In turn the Marlins would be tagged with a (+1.5) and would be required to either win the game or lose by a single run.

The run line isn’t always a popular wager, but it certainly can be. We are here to bring you the best possible Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins run line predictions to ensure you can cash in.

This can be a great way to bet when you’re not sure if the Atlanta Braves or Miami Marlins have an advantage when it comes to the run line or moneyline. Wagering the over/under is typically the second-most popular way to wager on MLB games.

For example, let’s say the over/under in this Braves vs Marlins game is set to 9.5 runs. A wager on the over would call for 10 or more total runs while a bet on the under would require nine or fewer total runs. This number is subject to change at any point.

Marlins vs Braves Moneyline Predictions

The moneyline is a very popular wager in the United States for all sports, so you’re likely more than familiar with how it works. In baseball, it all depends on the odds for how popular the wager is for that particular game. Let’s dive into an example of how a moneyline wager would work here.

Staying consistent with above, we will say the Braves are (-210 favorites). In that case, it would take $210 to win $100 back. In turn, the Marlins would be around (+190) underdogs, which means a $100 successful bet would return $190. This can be a bit confusing, but is very easy to read once you know what you’re looking at.
