BetMGM launches online sports betting in New York

One of the world's biggest and renowned online gaming and entertainment companies has recently started an online sportsbook in New York.
The BetMGM mobile sports betting app launched in New York on Monday, January 17, 2022. The company joins four other players in the most competitive and densely populated US sector for regulated online sports betting.
BetMGM was one of nine operators authorized by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) for mobile online sports betting licenses in November 2021. The self-proclaimed "King of Sportsbooks" is the fifth company to go live, following the fruitful launches of BetRivers, Caesars, DraftKings, and FanDuel on January 8.
A one-of-a-kind venture with various offers
While a little late to the party, BetMGM will be a force to be reckoned with in New York, and they have surely come prepared. Soon after obtaining a license in New York, they signed a multi-year marketing agreement with Madison Square Garden Sports Corporation (MSGS) and Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corporation (MSGE).
In a statement, BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt called the launch a "big moment." For the sports betting operator, New York becomes the 19th and biggest market. Since purchasing the Empire City Casino and Yonkers Raceway from the Rooney family for $850 million, the firm has had a footprint in the state for nearly two years.
“We have some incredible plans for our new customers in New York tied in with Empire City Casino and our friends at Madison Square Garden,” he stated.
It is unclear whether the firm will operate a retail sportsbook at the Empire City Casino in Yonkers, New York. Sports fans in the state, on the other hand, can look forward to special VIP experiences for the city's biggest sporting events as well as at local MGM Resorts locations such as the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa in New Jersey.
“With today’s monumental news, we’ll now be able to fully activate our relationships with MGM Resorts’ Empire City Casino and Madison Square Garden,” Greenblatt added.
“We look forward to offering customers in New York unique experiences that they can’t access on any other platform.”
Bet $10 Win $200
Another promotional offer is available towards the conclusion of the NFL's Wild Card Weekend. If any NFL club scores a touchdown during the first round of the playoffs, all customers who bet $10 on that team will automatically get a 20/1 Odds-boost with a potential winning of $200 in bonus bets. This delivers an immediate boost before the season's most significant matches.
Although wagering was not permitted this past weekend, New York residents can now participate in the final game of the NFL's Super Wild Card Weekend between the Los Angeles Rams and the Arizona Cardinals. The user-friendly mobile app allows users to personalize the pre-game, in-play, futures, and combo wagers.
