Val Demings’ Betting Odds Say She’ll Win Primary, Fall Short of Senate Seat

June 18, 2021

Val Demings is the clear odds-on favorite to win the Democratic Primary for Marco Rubio’s senate seat, according to betting industry analysts at USsportsbonus.com (See Disclaimer Below). She has 4/53 odds to be the Democratic candidate in the 2022 Senate election (93% implied probability). However, odds also say that she’s not likely to win the election, as Republicans have 50/213 odds to retain the seat (89%).

“Demings has been a Democratic star in recent years, so it’s no surprise that she’s such a strong favorite to win the primary, especially when she raised $1 million the day after she announced her bid to challenge Rubio,” says US Sportsbonus gambling industry analyst Jay Sanin. “However, it’ll still be quite the battle, as the Republicans are heavily favored to win the race with no specific candidate named.”

The Sunshine State continues to be a source of news in the political betting market, as Governor Ron DeSantis’s odds to win the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election have improved significantly. DeSantis improved from 40/1 (2.4% implied probability) to 12/1 (7.7%) to win the 2024 election, and 12/1 (7.7%) to 4/1 (20%) to win the Democratic nomination. He now has the second strongest odds among republicans to win the election, and he’s tied with Donald Trump to win the nomination.
