Tuesday Betting Plays
Portland Trail Blazers at New Orleans Pelicans
Opening Line: Blazers -3.5 and 232.5
Current Line: Blazers -3 and 232
There are two different betting options on this game. The first and currently most attractive option is the over of 232. Both of these teams rank top ten in the league in pace and fortunately both of these teams are near the bottom in defensive efficiency. Additionally, while neither team is at the polar tip of high end offensive efficiency, they both rank top half and this will be a game featuring many possessions on both sides without much resistance. On the later news side of things, half of the Pelicans team is questionable, but there is one key piece of news we should be looking out for, and that is the status of Brandon Ingram. Should he play, there’s no attractive side in this game, but if he is ultimately ruled out, the Blazers -3 become very attractive. Take the over here and monitor Ingram’s status, and take the Blazers as well if he’s ultimately ruled out.
“Damien Lillard has been ruled out for the Trail Blazers.
No team on tonight’s slate is as reliant on a single player’s availability as the Blazers are on Lillard’s. Him being ruled completely changes the complexion of the game as he is very much the primary scorer for the Blazers. The over is no longer at all in play despite having that line drop to 230.5. As for the play on a side, the Blazers are not at all in play and we could go the other way now should Brandon Ingram play. The line only dropped two points to Portland -1.5 and if Ingram plays we can play the Pelicans +1.5. If he is ultimately ruled out we will sadly have no action today.
Betting Picks: Pelicans +1.5 (if Ingram plays)
Monday Betting Play Review
After Kawhi Leonard was tabbed “expected to play,” he ultimately was ruled out and with him left all the strength of the Clippers play. They won the game but only by two and no cover for the Clips. Even more tilting is two of three other games under consideration saw easy covers.
17-12 on the season.
