Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane American Betting Picks

The 8-0 Cincinnati Bearcats will go on the road Saturday night to face off with the 6-1 Tulsa Golden Hurricane for the American Athletic Conference at 8:00 PM ET in Chapman Stadium. The Bearcats come in as 14-point road favorites and we’re looking at a 47.5 over/under. The undefeated Bearcats still have hope to make the playoff and must cruise to a comfortable victory. The Bearcats have crushed the majority of the opponents put in front of them, winning by more than 14 points in all but one of their games. Cincinnati is a run-first team, but they can throw it as well. QB Desmond Ridder is a dual-threat beast, and he’s up to 1,821 passing yards and 16 touchdowns on top of 526 rushing yards and another 11 scores. 

Senior RB Gerrid Doaks is the heart of this offense and he’s carried it 137 times for 660 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s backed up by junior Jerome Ford, who’s scored it six times himself on top of 329 rushing yards. On the outside, Cincy has a plethora of weapons, but Josh Whyle is an excellent TE and he leads the team with five touchdowns. This team hasn’t shown many holes to this point and Tulsa will be looking to expose them for the first time. 

Tulsa opened their season with a 16-7 loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a game that was never very close. The Golden Hurricane have one of the best backfields in the entire country, combining for 1,000+ yards and nine touchdowns. Demeric Prince leads the way with 356 yards, averaging five yards per carry. Corey Taylor II and T.K. Wilkerson are both over 300 yards per carry as well and Wilkerson leads the team with four touchdowns. 

QB Zach Smith will never wow you, but he does a good job of keeping the ball safe and getting it into his weapons hands. The best receiver on this team is slot wideout Keylon Stokes, who makes a difference any time the ball is in his hands. Defensively, Tulsa is stout. Still, they will have to prove they can slow down a Cincy attack that’s been close to unstoppable this year.

There’s no reason to believe the Cincinnati domination will stop here. While Tulsa has looked extremely tough, they haven’t faced an offense this consistent. The Bearcats are locked into their identity and they’re an offense that’s impossible to start for four quarters. Both of these teams have similarly strong defenses, though Cincy is a lot stronger at the safety position. They do an excellent job of keeping offenses in front of them and I expect Tulsa to have a hard time putting up any points. 

The under is the bet to make in this game. Both of these teams want to run the ball and they also lean on their defenses to set the tone. While I expect the Cincy offense to eventually prevail, it’s safe to say this will be a low-scoring affair. I truly expect Tulsa to have an extremely hard time scoring the football and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were held scoreless in the first. I love the first half under, but will ride with the full game under as well.
